About the NHOA

The North Hampshire Organists' Association was founded in 1966. The objects of the Association are to advance the education, appreciation and understanding by the public of the study of the art of music with special reference to the organ.

You do not have to be an organist or choir director to belong to the NHOA and enjoy the benefits of membership. Anyone who loves the organ and its music, whether a player or not, is welcome to join.

The NHOA is a member of the Incorporated Association of Organists (IAO). Membership of the NHOA brings with it automatic membership of the IAO.

The NHOA arranges visits to interesting organs, lectures, recitals and social events. Every two years a foreign tour is arranged on which members can have first hand experience of hearing and playing historical instruments in their original settings.

A newsletter detailing the programme of future events and other items of interest is sent to all members four times a year.

In addition, the Organists' Review is sent at the discounted members' rate to all NHOA members wishing to subscribe to it. It contains detailed articles about organs, composers, performers and playing. A comprehensive review section covers new organ and choral recordings, music and books. The lively education section is designed to appeal to players of all standards.

The Organists' Review is also available to non-members at the full subscription rate.

NHOA is a registered charity, no. 275207.
